Craft to Art

Facilitator and Tutor

Learn some simple embroidery techniques, the process to creating art and a few ways to mark and print your fabric. Two hours introduction or a five-day master class. Suitable for beginners who may never had threaded a needle and anyone who is stuck in the process.

These designed courses are also about community. Connection to others and reducing loneliness is part of the aim for each group. Once a group is established I hope it will continue to meet creating a space for conversation support and sharing.

This form of learning also helps to give individuals a place to chill, have time out and reduce your pulse from 140 to 70 with some mindful stitching.

There are a number of courses, which can be adapted to suit your needs, including Contemplation Cloth, Improv Embroidery techniques, embroider 3 D florals, and how to embroider a garden on denim. A new class Juggling Balls is a fun way to explore stitches new and old and a fun way to display your samplers.

This year I have been teaching across Australia in city and rural settings. Not just to Embroidery guilds but also community art groups open to new experiences and new ways to be creative. Kits are generally provided.
